As part of the European Erasmus+ project „iTeam – Interactive Teaching of Medical 3D Cardiac Anatomy Supported by Mixed Reality,” JUMC team members visited Sapienza University in Rome from April 22nd to 25th, 2025. The visit aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences related to the use of the 3DMedical software and support the development of educational tools and courses.
During the visit, the iTeam members and Sapienza University students explored the capabilities of the 3DMedical tool through a hands-on demonstrations, integrating CT scans, X-rays, and echocardiograms with interactive 3D models. The educational case was presented using both the tool and mixed-reality glasses, allowing participants to engage with the content and better understand anatomical structures and their spatial relationships. The session was led by the expert cardiologists from Sapienza, with support from JUMC staff to explain the technical aspects of the tool.
The feedback collected from participants emphasized the tool’s effectiveness in improving comprehension of medical cases and its role in enhancing anatomical education, highlighting the tool’s potential in real-world clinical applications.
